After the proprietary Slack app began to be used as a support fork, this forum fell out of the main menu on this site.
If this bug is not currently scheduled to be fixed, where should I report it? And how have key maintainers not noticed?

Relying on a proprietary service
I agree, there should be a prominent link to the Drupal Forum, instead of guiding everyone to a proprietary system, as opposed to drupal.org, where everyone has access, it leaves an eternal source, documenting historical decision and the thoughts behind them, the content gets indexed in search engines, etc.
You also raised this issue in February 2025 in About Slack for Support (thanks!) and you could leave a comment in "Forum link removed in the new drupal.org design: #3475832-109: Feedback on Modern Drupal.org Design" and #3397421: Please put link to "Forums" back in the "Community" pulldown menu, sharing your support for the Drupal Forum?
For an alternative solution, see #3032982: Slacking Off: Migrate from Slack to Matrix for chat-based conversations in Drupal Community.
Thank you, Ressa. You're
Thank you, Ressa. You're very patient, and I appreciate your constructive guidance.
I'm not normally prone to ranting duplicate posts, but I love what Drupal can be, see an an important place for it in modern community-centric branding, yet it's all I can do to stop myself from screaming into the void with some of the governance priorities slowing down adoption.
Whew. Feels good to finally say that out loud after keeping it bottled up for so long. I'll go add do something more productive now, adding comments to the support issues you so kindly linked to. Thanks again.
You're welcome @rg4w, and
You're welcome @rg4w, and what a great post! Really hammering home the important points.
I could tell that we are very much on the same page about Open Source vs. proprietary systems, based on your comment here and earlier this year, so I had a feeling that you had it in you, and you didn't let me down. And I agree, Drupal has so much potential to really shine, and let the community thrive in the Drupal Forums, if only the access wasn't throttled, by removing all links to it. Instead, it should be promoted wherever possible, and image upload made possible via #2926532: Provide file upload for forums. Let's hope our comments from the community are heard and acted upon. Have a great day.
