• Assets are now ordered by dependencies instead of relying on the order that libraries were attached to the page.
• Using Composer is the only way to safely and correctly add new code to a Drupal installation. No more uploads from the UI.
• The Page Cache and Dynamic Page Cache response headers have been improved to include more details about the cacheability.
• Composer is updated to 2.8.1.
• OpenTelemetry is updated to 1.1.0.
• CKEditor is updated to 44.0.0
• jQuery UI is updated to 1.14.0

Drupal 10.4 seems to throw a wrench into the works. It appears that Drupal is constrained to 10.0 and many of the Varbase modules are constrained to 10.3 or 11. So doing an update plays heck with the dependencies of the Varbase modules. Running the varbase-update script installs Drupal 10.4 and then downgrades many of the varbase packages.

Perhaps Drupal should be constrained to 10.3. Or maybe I just have somehow broken my installation and it was supposed to be that way?

Proposed resolution

• Change drupal/core to ~10.4.0 || ~11.1.0 in the composer.json file
• Full code testing round - looking for any error logs
• Have a fully automated functional testing round

It’s important to ensure everything passes all testing rounds.
