Problem/Motivation

In my opinion it is a bit confusing for editors that they see all the language variations in the list.
In Drupal content admin there is a language filter which defaults to the actual language (like English) to show only the relevant content unless the filter is changed.

Proposed resolution

Ideally there should be a language filter which defaults to the current language, just like on the admin/content page.

Makes sense, thanks for the suggestion. Testing shows up when I activate language & create a second language. No filter shows when multilingual not enabled. Seems fine. Okay for you?

(other changes come because config installs don't get updated with update hooks, tons of outdated ones in core for example - fine to ignore those in review)
