Problem/Motivation

Currently, there is no online documentation page for the module.

For example, I was to change the settings on /admin/config/user-interface/navigation/settings page but not sure what these are and what would reflect after making the changes.

Tried to find the documentation on https://www.drupal.org/project/navigation but could not or is it somewhere else and I missed it.

Some documentation is already available on the deprecated contrib module page. Other documentation exists in the meta issues in the core queue.

This kind of sort of should have been a stable blocker.

The documentation page should actually be provided at https://www.drupal.org/docs/develop/core-modules-and-themes/core-modules... now that the module is in core.

I think the change record from https://www.drupal.org/node/3443691 + a note about how to configure things would be good start here. Unfortunately when I was going to copy and paste that over to https://www.drupal.org/node/3465889/edit the page 500s repeatedly for me.

@hestenet kindly copied it over. I think this is already as good as https://www.drupal.org/docs/8/core/modules/taxonomy for example, moving to needs review.

Not sure it could be expanded on if we were to include configuration but agree it's on par with other modules listed.

I could not figure out where this is.

I moved the existing text around a bit to group the concepts.

My changes are not significant enough to keep this open. Yes, this could be expanded, but all documentation is evolving and nearly always needs updates. I think this issue is closed. The community can edit the page or discuss improvement in #core-development of #documentation.

Therefor, closing as fixed.
