Change record status:
Project:
Introduced in branch:
10.3.x
Introduced in version:
10.3.0
Description:

The markup for the theme logo was previously produced via a hard-coded img tag in the system branding block: block--system-branding-block.html.twig.

By default, it will now use the new 'logo' variable passed to that template, which is rendered via #theme image. This allows attributes such as width and height to be preserved when the image is rendered.

The old 'site_logo' variable with just the img URI is now deprecated. Themes should update template overrides to use the new variable.

The change record for this issue is no longer needed because the approach has been superseded by #3626551
, which provides the new site_logo_element renderable element and the corresponding migration path for themes.

I will mark change record #3436978 as [obsolete] in accordance with the change record policy.
