Problem/Motivation

https://www.drupal.org/project/cookies

I'm already Co-maintainer since a couple of years, but sadly the original maintainer @JFeltkamp isn't available / active anymore and doesn't respond to messages currently.

As currently for example the default branch is set wrong, I'd like to be able to correct that, but can't do with Co-maintainer permissions. So I'd like to offer maintainership.

See my commits here for reference. Thanks!

Project: COOKiES Consent Management » Drupal.org project ownership
Version: 2.x-dev »

I think, we can move it to the Drupal.org project ownership issue queue.

Indeed, thanks for the heads-up @J-Lee!

The project maintainer logged in the past week. I am going to contact him.

I contacted JFeltkamp and sent the following message.

Hello Joachim,

I am contacting you because Julian (https://www.drupal.org/u/anybody), currently co-maintainer, offered to maintain COOKiES Consent Management (https://www.drupal.org/project/cookies), a project for which you are project owner and maintainer.

May you post a comment on https://www.drupal.org/project/projectownership/issues/3390021 about accepting or declining the offer? Without a publicly visible comment posted in that issue in the next 14 days, Julian will be probably made maintainer (and will have all the permissions on the project).
None of the current co-maintainers/maintainers will be removed from site moderators, nor will the project owner be changed. A maintainer cannot change the project owner.

I am contacting all people with the explicit permission to administer co-maintainers/maintainers for that project. In this case, that is just you.

Best regards,
Alberto Paderno

Thanks @apaderno,

I'd be super pleased to hear from @JFeltkamp and talk about his future plans for COOKiES. Even more than taking over the module is to work with him for future COOKiES versions :)

Otherwise we can hopefully safe the future of COOKiES by additional maintainership.

Hello @apderno and @Anybody,

Oh, I'm so sorry for not answering my emails.

Sure, I definitely agree that "Anybody" (aka) becomes maintainer with full access to all resources.

I still love the project but don't have the time to devote to it at all and I'm very grateful that he's been doing such a great job for so long.

Already added the last missing permission: "Administer maintainers" for Julian.
Is that correct?

Hi @JFeltkamp,

happy to hear you're fine! :)
(Sad to hear you don't have much time for COOKiES currently ;))

Thank you very much, yes that's it! I just added @thomas.frobieter, in case I should be hit by a bus ;D and granted @Grevil "Administer releases" permission, as he did a great job in COOKiES already and is absolutely reliable. Hope that's fine.

If it's possible @JFeltkamp, it would be great to have your feedback on some issues, especially:

That would be wonderful. And of course we'd be super happy to have you back on board, but a clear statement on what you can achieve in the future and what not would also help a lot, of course.

Thank you very very much!

@JFeltkamp Thank you for your quick reply!
Yes, that is correct. Having all the permissions on a project is the condition to be called maintainer, in our (site moderators / project moderators) jargon.

avpaderno’s picture

(We usually keep the issue in this queue, when a site moderator / project moderator contacted the project maintainers. The exception could be when there is a disagreement about accepting or declining the offer between the person who made the offer and the maintainers, or between the maintainers.)

Sorry @apaderno I didn't know that. Thought just if the maintainer does not reply. Feel free to move it back, of course!
