I have contacted evanmwillhite through the contact tab on his profile as I used to work with him.

Evan got back to me and said he did not have permission to add me as a maintainer, are any of the other maintainers able to do so?

Maintainers who can add new maintainers/co-maintainers are:

Those are the people who need to be contacted. A reply from one of them is sufficient.

I contacted nginex today as requested.

As a note, I left this issue open for well over the 2 week period with no response from the maintainers, it was closer to 2 months.

ccjjmartin,
I understand that you left this in the issue queue for a long time without any form of response.

However, when a project is abandoned by its original team – as it is very likely that is the case with this project – the issue queue is no longer monitored by the team. That is why we recommend that anyone offering to maintain take a more proactive approach to getting the attention from those that have permission to add new maintainers.

It is not compulsory to do so. If you don't, the site moderators will usually do this for you, but failing to do so usually adds another 14 days waiting period before the site moderators evaluate your offer.

I contacted the people I listed in my previous comment. This is the message I sent to Grayle.

Hello Nick,

I am contacting you because Christopher (https://www.drupal.org/u/ccjjmartin) offered to maintain Unified Twig Extensions (https://www.drupal.org/project/unified_twig_ext), a project for which you are project owner and maintainer.

May you post a comment on https://www.drupal.org/project/projectownership/issues/3356687 about accepting or declining the offer? Without a publicly visible comment posted in that issue in the next 14 days, Christopher will be probably made maintainer (and will have all the permissions on the project).
None of the current co-maintainers/maintainers will be removed from site moderators, nor will the project owner be changed. A maintainer cannot change the project owner.

I am contacting all people with the explicit permission to administer co-maintainers/maintainers for that project. In this case, that means you and two other people.

Best regards,
Alberto Paderno

Sorry for missing the request on the original issue queue. Nick and I originally created and maintained this module as part of the Dropsolid Rocketship ecosystem and at least I always saw this module as a temporary stopgap for our specific situation, we were eventually gonna work our way out of (especially now with some D10 developments). It is after all just a fork of a module which was also not being followed up on anymore. So we didn't give it as much thought and care as maybe we should have.
But certainly glad to hear someone else is interested in its use. Good to have you there!
