Problem/Motivation

Previously, I had struggled with maintaining a demo site (the cost was just few hundred euro per year, but the time and effort to maintain it was distracting me a lot). Am open to ideas on how we can make this affordable and sustainable.

Sorry to hear that. Maintaining demo site is indeed a lot of work. Thanks for your contributions with the previous demo while it was realistic for you to maintain it.

To resolve this challenge above, I suggest using the Drupal powered https://simplytest.me

Benefit with SimplyTest:

  • Reduce your workload. Because a team of volunteers is presently maintaining SimplyTest. Details at https://www.drupal.org/project/simplytest
  • Free
  • Easy to use. Three steps: 1. Go to https://simplytest.me/project/pm/10.x 2. Fill the form appropriately. 3. Click on "Launch Sandbox" button. Wait. The demo will automatically load and redirect you to the demo page.
  • One Click Demo. Optionally, I suggest for you as PM maintainer, to invite SimplyTest maintainer to collaborate. About adding a "One Click Demo" button on the front page at https://simplytest.me Similar to the already exiting "One Click Demo" for "Drupal Commerce Demo".
  • One Click Demos

  • Well documented. Find https://www.drupal.org/node/2044361

Thanks. Also to give due credits to Julian, who spend more time on it than I did :)

Thats indeed one of the best solutions we have atm. For Drupal 7, we did provide an integration over here https://www.drupal.org/project/dfs_pm.
This was not published on Drupal PM's home page due to some in-stability issues. In short, it never provided an out of the box experience I was hoping for.

This could be due to the complexity of the project back then. Having a better "Default Content" support in Drupal 10 now, maybe the ride might be smoother now.

As of March 5th, 2023, it seems that the Drupal.org code repository does not have a PM version for Drupal 10.x publicly available.

I have created a release 4.1.x DEV release, let see if it gets picked up.

Trying to use https://simplytest.me/ to test "Drupal PM" doesn't work. Simply Test is generating a broken site for me.

Sorry, if I am doing something wrong, by changing the issue's metadata like this.

I've tried to use simplytest.me for installing 4.1.x on Drupal 11.3.2 and I've completed installation with some warnings only:

Deprecated function: Drupal\pm\PathProcessor\PmPathProcessor::processOutbound(): Implicitly marking parameter $request as nullable is deprecated, the explicit nullable type must be used instead in include() (line 576 of /var/lib/tugboat/stm/vendor/composer/ClassLoader.php).

I think that the efforts for this project are quite nice.

Thanks for everything:)

Fixed in 4.1.x-dev (please not that this fix is not in 4.1.0-alpha1)

Good morning @d34dman, @orkut-murat-yılmaz and all contributors

This is to confirm that PM 4.1.x-dev demo works for me to. I used Drupal 11.3.2 at https://simplytest.me/configure?project=pm&version=4.1.x-dev

Congrats to all who contributed to this 💚

@d34dman, for your consideration and for your decision, on the Drupal PM project page at https://www.drupal.org/project/pm/
I suggest adding a Demo link to https://simplytest.me/configure?project=pm&version=4.1.x-dev

I created a new ticket about this suggestion at https://www.drupal.org/project/pm/issues/3569503
