larowlan	I'm keen on a the CWV one from Fabian/Janez and Mike and Lauri's one about IE11's passing. Also keen for sessions at Drupal South from Michael and Dan
ambermatz	I haven’t had a chance to check, so I’m curious what others post here.
borisson_	alex pott's recipies session was super interesting, really happy I saw that one
longwave	Nicolas Grekas on Drupal 10 from a Symfony POV was really good - @larowlan i recommend you watch this
larowlan	I've read the slides but keen for the recording
Tinto	Driesnote is always a nice roundup of what’s going on with Drupal. Looking forward to watch some recorded sessions too.
Kristen Pol (she/her)	I didn't do the remote ticket because I'm usually asleep (or trying to sleep) during the European hours but I'm curious of the ticket would have gotten me access to the videos... are the videos ready for those who got a ticket? I wonder if I can retroactively get a ticket just to see the videos early

larowlan	planning for sprint day at Drupal South - should we have a bugsmash table? I'm keen on D10 porting, but bugsmash is another good thing for a sprint day
ambermatz	I think we had talked about having an educational day centered around a particular topic, e.g. testing, triage, etc. Is there interest in this?

Tinto	Finally found some time to triage again after 2 months of client work. Also bookmarked some issues I want to focus on this week.
lendude	Does this count for this meeting ?#2457999: Cannot use relationship for rendered entity on Views just landed!!! That issue broke my will back in the day, sooooo happy enough people kept pushing!
smustgrave	found out I can possibly budget core work into my work schedule. A tax write off as RnD work

Tinto	Client work, rebuilding our office NAS, other overhead nuisances. And getting back into bug smashing after two months. Harder than I thought!
Kristen Pol (she/her)	Legal "fun" (probate/conservatorship), selling 2 houses, go through tons of "stuff", working, kids, backstage theater class (this is fun!), other initiatives, etc etc etc

quietone	@ambermatz and myself have started a regular triage meeting in #documentation.
quietone	Thanks. We are doing them fortnightly.
quietone	What I like about it is working in real time with someone. for me, it makes triage so much easier.
ambermatz	It’s been great to work with @quietone on core documentation triage. It’s so easy to get stuck on second-guessing yourself on what to do with an issue. Having a triage buddy is awesome.
ambermatz	@Griffyn Heels thanks for re-posting the link to the survey. I’ve been meaning to get back to filling it out. And thanks for working up a presentation about bugsmash!
quietone	The survey says the initiative started in Oct 2020 but the goal page shows the initial stats as from 2020-04-21. What is the start date?

quietone	I'll be at the sprint.
quietone	Would the bugsmash table have a focus on triage or something else?
larowlan	yeah I think @lendude and @Tinto said bug-bingo triage worked well at a recent in person event
larowlan	kind of torn, because impact wise a sprint on D10 porting in Oct is probably a bigger impact, but its not for everyone, so having the option of bugsmash/triage would be good, we might even recruit some new folks to the initiative
quietone	Yea, spreading the news of the bug-bingo tool is a good idea.
ambermatz	I won’t physically be there, but I’m happy to drop in to the channel and help where I can.
lendude	Bingo triage worked great for in person sprinting, in my mind it should be the default way of getting new or newish contributers get started at mentored sprints, but I might be a little biased :blush:
ambermatz	Ok, what is bug bingo triage? Am I missing something obvious?

lendude	The ‘what should I work on ‘ question is usually the biggest time sink for new people, so just having them jump straight in and having a focus on triage and not ‘fix’ can really help give people a sense of getting something done in 1 short day of sprinting
Tinto	Agree with @lendude. I always wanted to “contribute something to Drupal” but never really knew where to start. Len’s Bug Smash Bingo at DevDays was a great way to get acquainted with contributing because you learn by getting your hands dirty (triaging issues) with instant result (credits). It also inspired me to pay it forward by showing other newbies how to get started. I think the fact that it’s a relatively easy way to contribute to core is what makes it extra appealing.
Kristen Pol (she/her)	@larowlan You mentioned before that maybe a Drupal 10 Global Porting Day might be nice to coordinate so it coincides with DrupalSouth's contribution day... but I did hear through other channels that some organizers might not be super keen to have a remote event at the same time as they really want in-person participation and are worried such a remote event might pull people away of participating in person. IMO I would be surprised if that happened... if you are at DrupalSouth, I would think you'd want to attend the contribution in-person since you are there :slightly_smiling_face: But, I did want to follow up on this because if we did do a parallel D10 porting event at the same time, we need time to find remote mentors and to advertise the event. Thoughts? (from anyone) (edited)

🔟 Is there any interest in a regular education day? Where we pick a topic and then share favorite resources or have a discussion about best practices? Topics would be chosen based on their relevance to core issue triage, testing, etc.

ambermatz	I was late and so I’m slipping this discussion topic in, hope that’s ok.
ambermatz	One of the things I’ve liked about #bugsmash is learning best practices. I thought it might be cool to also have an intentional set-aside time for education in this channel.
larowlan	I think that's a good idea, especially if we could refer people to existing material
ambermatz	Exactly yes. I see it as a great way to get folks oriented with the docs.
