Searched for & found this issue today, it seems that the solution in progress there is now outdated and we ought to be using native elements. https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/2158943
Now that the jQuery UI deprecation has been bumped back I wonder if plans need to change. Thinking we ought to have @nod_ @lauriii at a minumum weighing in on this.

This issue is one of many jquery/javascript modernization tickets out there. With Claro and Olivero largely stabilizing, I wonder if we ought to bring the JS initiative into the fold of this weekly meeting.
It seems like a lot of the issues in this initiative are now D10-focused with the hope of removing jquery by D11. I think we ought to explore using native elements where we can, and potentially utilizing web components in the areas where native falls short.
I’ve spoken about using web components with @shaal and @Mike Gifford (CivicActions) - I’d be curious to know the opinions of others as well.

In Drupal 10, in the Standard profile, the Bartik and Seven blocks have been removed. Was this intentional, and we assume that the blocks get installed when the respective themes get installed?
