Drupal core will begin to warn if a database connection does not support JSON, in preparation for this being a platform requirement in Drupal 10.

For contributed database drivers, Drupal provides a default ::hasJson() method on the Connection class. If your database needs a different query syntax, this method can be overridden.

Hopefully that will take us away from ugly binary fields and serialized PHP in database one day. Pain since Drupal 6 ;)
