Commerce HyperPay has been automatically opened to new maintainer applications, as it will otherwise become unsupported with the end of life of Drupal 8 on 2 Nov, 2021.
This is an adaptation of our existing process for transferring project maintainership.

After the standard 14-day waiting period from this issue being opened, if an existing maintainer has not closed it, this project is eligible for new maintainers, without necessarily waiting for existing maintainers’ approval.

Next steps:

  • An existing maintainer may close this issue and opt out of this accelerated process.
  • A prospective new maintainer can take this issue after the 14 day window has
    elapsed and take the following steps to be added as a maintainer:
    • Comment here explaining why you would like to maintain the module.
    • If the project is opted in to security coverage, confirm that you have previously received security coverage opt-in permission.
    • If an existing maintainer has not commented, move the issue to the Drupal.org Project Ownership queue, by editing the “Project” field on this issue.
  • The Drupal.org site moderators will review the issue, and if it meets the requirements can grant you maintainer access.

I would like to maintain this project, as I have more than one site using the HyperPay payment gateway, and I created a custom copy of this module (Drupal 9 compatible) to support the new API for the payment gateway.
I'm familiar with HypePay payment gateway and I'm able to maintain it.

Technically, the project owner can remove and add co-maintainers/maintainers, and the permissions a project owner has cannot be changed.

He should not remove you, though, since he hasn't closed this issue before September, 30. If you are removed from the maintainers, leave a comment here.

Hello, I would like to take ownership of the commerce_hyperpay project before uploading a new version, or at least I would like to take approval from the current owner so that he doesn't mind me as a maintainer on this project if he is still active.

I tried to contact the owner of this module on 24/12/2022 using the contact tab in his Drupal.org profile and asked him to post a comment on this issue to approve transferring the ownership to me.
