This project appears to need a maintainer in order for a D9 compatibility release to be made. Specifically https://www.drupal.org/project/path_file/issues/3120829 which I'm currently a user of via a "custom module" with the patch installed. I'm not especially familiar with the code but I'm quite willing to do the paperwork to get this out the door.

Project: Path File » Drupal.org project ownership
Version: 8.x-1.x-dev »
Component: Miscellaneous » Co-maintaining offer

My organization uses https://www.drupal.org/project/path_file in several sites. I am a dev ops specialist so it would be preferred if someone with a stronger php background co-maintained this project but I can test and approve patches certainly.

The procedure for Taking over unsupported (abandoned) projects says:

When opening an issue for a project that has opted into security coverage, you must explicitly say in the issue summary if you have that permission. If you aren't sure about having that permission, write that in the issue summary.

That information is missing in the issue summary.

You may want to read: Apply for permission to opt into security advisory coverage.

Postponing until this is cleared up.

miedward doesn't have the vetted role, nor did he apply to get it.

I have contacted dtraft, the project owner, and peezy, the other user who can add co-maintainers/maintainers.

The following is the copy of the message sent to dtraft.

Hello Drew,

I am contacting you because Michael (https://www.drupal.org/u/miedward) offered to co-maintain Path File (https://www.drupal.org/project/path_file), a module you created.

May you write a comment on https://www.drupal.org/project/projectownership/issues/3212220 about accepting or declining the offer? Since Michael doesn't have the vetted role necessary to opt into security coverage, Drupal.org site moderators won't add him as co-maintainer.

I will sent a similar message to John Paul, the other user who can add co-maintainers/maintainers to that module.

Best regards,

Hello, all! I'm not really involved in this project anymore (and I doubt that @dtraft is either).

By all means please take it over @miedward !

avpaderno’s picture

@peezy Drupal.org site moderators won't add as co-maintainer a user without the vetted role. You can add miedward as co-maintainer from https://www.drupal.org/node/2794401/maintainers.

Gotcha... thanks for clarifying.

@miedward you are added and thank you for picking up this project.

Thanks @peezy and @apaderno I'm trying to figure out how this all works now.
