Purpose

To make Drupal event information easier to find for those within the Drupal community and for those interested in the Drupal community.

Description

Many members of the Drupal community and those that are new to or evaluating Drupal, are not familiar with where to go to find information about Drupal events. The overall goal of this initiative is to help centralize, maintain, and distribute Drupal Event information. Drupal events consist of, but are not limited to DrupalCons, Camps, Meetups, Trainings and Contribution Events. This initiative is focused on making Drupal.org an easy to use and centralized catalog of global Drupal Events.

Goals

  • Improve drupal.org/community/events to easily allow event organizers to enter & maintain information about events and event vital information (stats).
  • Enhance drupal.org to highlight, provide information on, and direct site visitors to community events
  • Improve exiting APIs to enable Drupical and other awesome community resources to use collected data
  • Help to develop a roadmap for events.drupal.org and groups.drupal.org to centralize all Drupal events.
  • Propose layout and content changes for the community/events pages on drupal.org to improve usability and make finding events easier.
  • Communicate the information about events to the Drupal community and to those outside of the Drupal community.
  • Partner with the DA & DA dev team where needed to achieve the above goals.
