I'd like to get full maintainer access to update this for D9 and Simplenews 2.x. I already contacted @dgtlmoon a few days ago, nobody else has administer maintainer access. He has no commits in ~3 years, Miro my co-worker already has commit access and I maintain simplenews, so I'm hoping we can fast-track this a bit.

Berdir created an issue. See original summary.

Fully supporting this.

I have even project edit permissions and i can release, but i can't promote Berdir.
We did the D8 port without student program and i think i committed all of that work and created the 8.x releases.

Yes, I see that only dgtlmoon (the owner) has the permission to administer maintainers.

As for "fast tracking" assignment of new maintainers to a project, the webmasters don't do it. The procedure followed is explained here, and as a webmaster, I always follow it. Overriding a project owner's control of his/her project team is a sensitive matter and I think that by following a well-documented procedure that everybody has access to, less feathers get ruffled.

Also, dgtlmoon was last seen here about a month and half ago, so I think he is still around. If you want to fast track this, your best bet is to get his attention.

Since no action will be taken by the webmasters until all preconditions described in procedure has been fulfilled, I am moving it to the project's own issue quue.

If there has been no response from dgtlmoon in 14 days from now (Dec. 30) you can move it to the project ownership queue for the webmasters to handle.

Berdir and miro_dietiker who work in the same organisation ganging up on me, wonderful.

Just another reason why I'm no longer involved with Drupal or the web-development community in-general, Why can't you just send a friendly email/private-message ? I do not follow the issues but I do receive messages from D.O, my email is pretty damn easy to find.

Why does the DO documentation still suck so bad compared to any other big opensource project? too many chefs? I digress.

Anyhow, in view of keeping the project moving I've done the following, feel free to thank me later.

- Set miro_dietiker to admin releases+admin maintainers
- Added Berdir to the project with the same permissions ( admin releases+admin maintainers )

I already contacted @dgtlmoon a few days ago,

Today is the 18th, I see a TASK from you on the 16th, no private message, no email.

Merry xmas.

dgtlmoon, thank you for responding!

Lokking at the list of maintainers, I can see that miro_dietiker has permission to admininister releases but not to admininister maintainers.

Berdir has not been added at all.

Pushing it back to "Needs work".

Hey @dgtlmoon

Thank you for the promotion. This allows Berdir to move on, thus closing.

I'm sorry if the procedure chosen here was not appropriate or we promoted the process too fast. Maybe the message got lost along the way, maybe Berdir forgot to hit the Button. I lost overview over what maintainer i'm connected in what channel and at least i sometimes forget other channels could be better steps before promoting. We have too many channels on d.o / irc / slack / drupalchat / contact form / mail? / social media ... I felt we are following the intended process while we're just trying our best to contribute efficiently with our very limited time.

And thank you for the feedback, we will try to do a better job when communicating.

Seasons greetings!

@miro_dietiker I don't believe you, You only needed to hit up my PM with a friendly message if this really was the case, right now it's Friday night a week before Christmas.

This is not about blaming too many communication channels, this is about your organisation pushing around other people in order to fulfil your own commercial obligations, I can guarantee you that if this happened any other time, you would be completely fine with waiting a week or two before "I'm hoping we can fast-track this a bit." where's my share of your invoice for dealing with this out of hours?

I've put in a request to transfer the ownership of this module to you @miro_dietiker or @berdir (up to you guys I think), as you guys have a history of a lot of development of this module and probably have a lot of commercial interest in maintaining this module.

I believe this module is demonstrably better-off in your hands.

@miro_dietiker this project is now all yours...

I'm sorry if I was too aggressive. We already had commit access and access to do releases and the D8 version was practically all done by us a few years ago. I just wanted to get commit access too so I didn't have to bother Miro with things. That's why I considered this to just be a formality. I thought I did reach out to you through the d.o contact form, maybe I forgot to submit or it ended up in spam. But yes, it was only few days ago too.

And yes, we are updating this to make it D9 ready for a commercial project and not having a D9 compatible release is blocking us but I don't see how that is a bad thing. Beside, I plan to look at committing things now and that isn't paid time either :)

Anyway, thanks for giving me access and sorry again.

dgtlmoon’s picture

So now you admit that you openly lied to @gisle and myself just to complete your own commercial obligation?

unbelievable.
