pameeela my biggest frustration has been the amount of junk in the issue queue, and how time consuming it is to clear that stuff out.

lendude Old bugs in hard problem spaces on the target list, takes a long time to grasp and then think “Yeah, I have no opinion on this….” :shrug:

dww Aww, we can't take it personally... there are only a couple dozen of us, and 100000s of folks potentially opening new bugs. :wink:

Kristen Pol (she/her) @Griffyn Heels Sorry. My bug smashing was diminished the last couple weeks mostly due to being distracted by the California fires. Our normal home was in the evacuation zone for the Santa Cruz fire. :(
Kristen Pol (she/her) I do have this on my todo list but maybe it's unrealistic of me. There was a smaller fire very close to my current house just yesterday. California is a tinderbox :(

lendude I do feel that having a target list that consists of old hard bugs makes it harder to meet the criterium of keeping the issue queue in check. Those take up a lot of time just to get rolling on,  mostly because there is already a lot of discussion on them and/or they are in hard to reproduce areas or just in problem spaces not a lot of people are comfortable working in
larowlan tell me about it, I’ve read that node access join one a few times and just don’t feel comfortable - the whole thing feels like its built on a house of cards

lendude Do we have a plan for how long we want to keep a bug on the list, if nobody claims it?

lendude Yeah it is a tricky one that, extensive test coverage, but not very easy to read test coverage

Kristen Pol (she/her) Might be interesting to tag (?) bugs that we tried to target but felt were "too much/hard" since then we know those are ones that probably need very specialized maintainer attention to move forward

6️⃣ New core issue triage - how do we get those happening a few times a fortnight in multiple timezones

pameeela big +1 to this, i found it really helpful to be able to talk to someone while doing triage!
larowlan yeah same, and I think getting on top of the queue require quality triage as things come in
Griffyn Heels Maybe we could coordinate a triage team during the first week?
larowlan we’re getting 50-60 new bug reports a fortnight, so that’s roughly 4 or 5 a day, so its probably something we could do in a couple of sessions

Kristen Pol (she/her) I'm normally up until 1am or later Pacific time but don't schedule around me. I missed the last one because I didn't make an alarm
pameeela i can do morning, but i also think we should do smaller more frequent ones rather than trying to line up a bunch of people. i'd say any more than 3 on a call is probably too much? but a couple of different small groups would work well
