I ported this project to Drupal 8 and there is still some interest in using this in Drupal 8. So I’m offering to co-maintain it.

Please do not transfer a maintaining offer to the Project ownership issue queue before you've documented that you've completed all the tasks that is listed in the procedure for Dealing with unsupported (abandoned) projects. The webmasters will not start processing such as request before all tasks has been completed.

The protocol for becoming a co-maintainer says that before opening an issue here, you're supposed to contact the current project owner via the contact tab on their Drupal.org user profile page (and/or other means of contact that exists) to let them know about the issue you posted regarding maintainership/project status. There is no record of this being done. Please complete this step, and add the details (who, means of contact and when) to the issue summary.

The project has, in addition to the owner, a maintainer (Dave Reid) that may accept your offer. While you are not required to contact any maintainer, I strongly recommend doing so, as we always prefer the project team to add co-maintainers, making it unnecessary for the webmasters to intervene.

Finally, the procedure for Dealing with unsupported (abandoned) projects says:

When opening an issue for a project that has opted into security coverage, you must explicitly say in the issue summary if you have that permission. If you aren't sure about having that permission, write that in the issue summary.

That information is also missing from the issue summary.

To make it clear what is missing, I've added a checklist to the issue summary.

Moving it back to the project. Please do not request assistance from the webmasters in the project ownership issue queue before you have completed all the steps that are now missing and documented their completion in the issue summary.

OK, so Nate Lampton was contacted more than 14 days ago – it was just not documented. Moving back to Drupal.org project ownership.

I sent a message to the current project owner, since he is still active on drupal.org.

Hello Nate,

I am contacting you because Agnes (https://www.drupal.org/u/amaria) offered to become co-maintainer of the Options Element module (https://www.drupal.org/project/options_element).
May you post a comment on https://www.drupal.org/project/projectownership/issues/3158615 about accepting or declining her offert? Without a comment in the next 14 days on that issue, Agnes will be probably added as co-maintainer for that module.

Best regards,
