The 8.x-2.x branch of this module requires a closed-source abstraction layer. This can be purchased from drupalonwindows.com.

As an 8.x-2.x branch of this module no longer exists therefore the above message can be updated in the context of 3.x branch.

Additionally, It would be good if we can mention whether an 8.x-3.x branch of the module needs the PhpMssql component or not on the module page itself.
