Define core_version_requirement key in the .info.yml file to be ready for Drupal 9. It's not helpful at the moment, while Metatag module is not officially compatible with Drupal 9 #3088848: Drupal 9 release plan for Metatag (ETA: when D9.0.0-beta1 is released). But the Metatag Google Scholar module doesn't contain any deprecated code, so, it should become compatible with Drupal 9 once Metatag module is compatible.
