I hereby apply for the confirmed user role and swear not to spam.

To be honest: I don't think I will every post anything because I just wanted to subscribe for the Security Newsletter and I really like confirmations.

What I also like are bad jokes: You should immediately switch from TCP over to UDP to reduce the number of handshakes due to the current corona outbreak.

The confirmed role's purpose is allowing users to post in few time; it doesn't stop users from subscribing to the Security Newsletter.

You are absolutely correct (I've already subscribed to that newsletter). I was just curious if it would be possible to remove that mildly annoying banner from my profile.
