Option to allow users to add new taxonomy terms from within the tree view

Option to allow users to add new taxonomy terms from within the tree view - could be a huge time saver :)
ie. during node creation form or editing a node, instead of having to create the terms first.
Perhaps by providing a button in the tree to add new terms, that shows a new icon at all levels to click and enter new term name.
The issue-owner saw a similar approach here https://www.drupal.org/project/term_reference_autocreate

It would be greeat to have this in D8 version!
