Plan for Viewfield 8.x-3.0

As per the commit graph, there have been several betas released since this ticket was created.

What's left? Are there any remaining critical issues (or major ones we need to worry about)? If so, let's list them in the description here so that we can visually see what's left. Otherwise, let's cut a stable release if there are no blockers. Thanks!

It would be great if we could at least provide a roadmap.

Also, is there anything anyone else can do to help (e.g. co-maintain, etc.)?

@jerdavis: For now, would you kindly cut a new beta? It's been a while since we've had any release at all. I'd be happy to help with that if granted co-maintainer status.

+1 so we can have a Drupal 9 compatible release.

Let's flag this issue as the parent for any issues that need to be completed in order to tag a stable release.

#3381787: Getting PHP errors when setting default value looks like a candidate for upcoming stable, it's RTBC and has plenty of +1s. I have set it as a child of this issue.
