Hello,
there are many issues in the issue queue which are ready to be commited to dev branch.
Also
8.x-3.1 released 10 October 2017
7.x-2.2 released 27 March 2019
last stable releases were quite long ago.
Ready to help with issue queue maintaining and creating new stable releases.

gisleThe protocol for becoming a co-maintainer says you should try to contact the current project owner and the current maintainers via the contact tab on their user profile page to let them know about the issue regarding co-maintainership you just posted. If there is no response after two weeks, post a new issue here and add the issue as a “Parent issue”. You say:
I would like to see more details. When did you contact the owner? What forms of contact did you try?
In general, if you plan to become the maintainer or co-maintainer of already existing projects, you should familiarize yourself with the protocol regarding Dealing with unsupported (abandoned) projects.
As you state, there was a stable release on the 2019-03-27. IMHO, this is not long ago.
