1️ :one: *DrupalCon Seattle!* We’re six weeks from DrupalCon Seattle! If you're attending, what are you excited about? Are there any ideas that you have that you'd like to share with us?
| Rob McBryde | TBH - I’m pumped about karaoke again this year at the Mediacurrent afterparty. (With LASERS!) |
| Rob McBryde | And my first time presenting a session! |
| amyjune (volkswagenchick she/her) | I will be helping with the community summit this year - and welcome any feedback suggestions for topics.. Its an Un-conference, so they day will be led by everyone! |
| amyjune (volkswagenchick she/her) | Congrats @Rob McBryde |
| krismaye | I’ll be excited when my session is over  Oh, and trivia night! |
| mdrummond | I’m really looking forward to the community summit, that was so great last year. |
| mdrummond | Seattle is a cool town, so I’m looking forward to being there, having good coffee. Maybe getting down to Pike’s Market. There’s a cool turkish delights shop down there, but I’m eating low carb now, so that’s probably out. I’m sure there’s some other things that will be fun to do. |
| amyjune (volkswagenchick she/her) | @mdrummond would be willing to lead a breakout table about pitching sessions during the Summit? |
| mdrummond | I think that would be good to have a discussion about, and maybe having a discussion with camp organizers about speaker selection processes. I think that’s probably the most relevant thing to work on with the folks likely to be there? |
| amyjune (volkswagenchick she/her) | sounds good |
| burnashburn | I live in Seattle if anyone wants recommendations for food/coffee/things to do :relaxed: I have a map |
| burnashburn | It is indeed a great town! |
| mdrummond | That sort of thing would be great, @burnashburn! |
| cedewey | My company is completely remote so I’m really looking forward to connecting with my coworkers in person. In fact, it’ll be my first time meeting face to face one of them. |
| sugaroverflow (she/her) | I am excited to see everyone and to emcee trivia night again (this time it's not a surprise haha) |
| gapple | For New Orleans someone made a google map of restaurant recommendations and a few things to see in different areas of the city, and that was really helpful. |
| gapple | My past visits to Seattle I haven’t seen much beyond the area around the Space Needle and Pike Place, so I look forward to having some extra time to explore. |
| gapple | I *really* need to sort out my travel. I’m still anxious about presenting, but so far I’m having more fun working on my slides than for past presentations. |
| liberatr | you might have been using my map of New Orleans, not sure. I typically will do some homework and try to identify interesting locations and attractions. Seattle downtown is very tourist-friendly near the waterfront (a few blocks from the convention) but there are certainly other things to do depending on what you like. I know lots of people who've been talking about going out to the mountains / national forests / hiking. There is a really great Crumpet shop near Pike's Place that I am definitely going to. The Sushi and Asian Cuisine on the West Coast is phenomenal. Coffee, Beer, Wine, if you are into those things. Your airline may allow you to bring wine on the plane as checked baggage (I know Alaska Air does). It's also worth checking Atlas Obscura for off-the-beaten-path attractions. |
1️ 2️ *DrupalCon DD&I Booth*
We have a booth in the exhibit hall where we'll have our photobooth and stickers and swag. Is there anything else you'd like us to do? Ideas?
| burnashburn | I really enjoyed this at DrupalCon Nashville! Glad to hear it will be there |
1️ 3️ We've had a security backchannel in the past to help attendees have a support system for things and feel safe. Are you interested in this?
| sugaroverflow (she/her) | @krismaye has volunteered to organize it this time around, thank you! @sparklingrobots ran and organized this last year and can share information or answer any questions or concerns. |
| mdrummond | I think this is a really valuable thing that we do. |
| webchick | Can I ask a perhaps ignorant question… in what way is this different than the CWG contact at DrupalCon? And/or is this done in conjunction with the CWG rep? Are they in the channel as well? |
| sparklingrobots | @webchick no worries, you are not the first to ask. :slightly_smiling_face: This channel is more for ongoing support--things like coordinating walks to and from the venue, emotional support, that sort of thing. |
| webchick | Ahhh got it! Thanks! |
| sparklingrobots | It is not in any way intended to replace actual emergency services (e.g. 911) or Drupal-specific services like the CWG contact. |
| sparklingrobots | Yeah--it came out of the stuff that happened around Baltimore, when this channel had a lot more hostile lurkers in it so folks didn't feel comfortable asking for that kind of support publicly. |
| sparklingrobots | @krismaye It's still on my list to compile the info on this; I haven't forgotten! Sorry for the delay. |
| krismaye | Thanks, @sparklingrobots! :sparkles: |
| rachel_norfolk | Just FYI, @webchick, the CWG don’t run the CoC process onsite at DrupalCon, the DA do. The contact details are in the programme and on the posters but, essentially, the email address is |
1️ 4️ Any other DrupalCon-related topics? Are BOFs pinned down? Does the sponsorship doc need any updates? Here's the planning issue for more details: https://www.drupal.org/project/diversity/issues/3029620
| webchick | I added an agenda item at the VERY last minute, which was about a dedicated D&I section of the Driesnote. Not sure whether to talk about that here or if that will be its own thread. (Sorry, n00b. :\) |
| sugaroverflow (she/her) | @webchick just saw it, thank you for reminding! I'll create an item  |
| webchick | Aw, thanks! And sorry for such late notice! |
| sugaroverflow (she/her) | no worries at all! |
2️ *Speakers Initiative* - @mdrummond is working on an initiative to support speakers in the drupal community. He's working with Jill Binder, who done some amazing work in increasing diversity of speakers in the Wordpress community through workshops.
> We recently met with Jill to discuss the possibility of working with her to do something similar in the Drupal community, and we wanted to check if there would be interest in an online workshop to help with session development. It would be four hours held over two Saturday mornings—so two hours each morning—and would include guidance as well as breakout sessions to workshop session ideas, pitches and outlines to help people from underrepresented groups to get started. We don’t know for sure if this is something we’ll be able to do or not yet, but if you would be interested, react with a :heavy_plus_sign:! To be clear, this would be an *online* training, *not* something at DrupalCon or a conference.
| amyjune (volkswagenchick she/her) | I work with Jill over in the WP space, she is fantastic. |
| mdrummond | We would probably be looking to do this sometime in early May I’d guess? We’d have to figure out the exact dates and look at potential conflicts.
We also might need to do some potential fundraising to cover the costs of the workshop. So if your company might be interested in helping to sponsor this initiative, we’d also be interested in discussing that! |
| mdrummond | If this is of interest to you, would really appreciate a plus mark to help make sure there is interest. This isn’t a commitment by any means. Fine to express interest if you haven’t given a talk before and want to learn more about giving a talk, and it’s fine if you have given or more talks before, but you’d like to workshop a new idea and help develop some additional skills. |
3️ *DrupalCon & DriesNote* - lets discuss!
> I would like to raise the topic of Dries having a diversity + inclusion section of the Driesnote, give an overview of what he's thinking, and gather up thoughts/opinions on how best to showcase the work this group is doing and lay out plans to go from here. (from webchick)
| webchick | Yes, hello! :slightly_smiling_face: |
| webchick | So in the past, Dries has made reference to the importance of diversity and inclusion, but this time around would like to have a dedicated section to the topic.
The general outline he was thinking was… |
| webchick | 1) This is the current state of diversity + inclusion in tech/open source (not good) |
| webchick | 2) This is why it’s important (citing e.g. https://hbr.org/2016/11/why-diverse-teams-are-smarter and https://techcrunch.com/2018/01/18/diverse-teams-are-still-really-good-fo..., talking about how open source is a launching pad for many peoples’ careers) |
| webchick | 3) Here are best practices that have been established to help address these issues (codes of conduct, speaker diversity, diversity of faces in leadership, etc.) |
| webchick | 4) And here is kind of a “score card” on how Drupal is doing currently, and what changes we need to make |
| elissat | It would be great to hear from him about it. A lot of un-diverse developers really look up to him so his words carry a great amount of weight! |
| webchick | 5) And then possibly (based on feedback from you + others?) here are some formal initiatives we should start |
| webchick | Yes, agreed. |
| webchick | And I think it’s also important for people to hear “from the horse’s mouth” or whatever on this topic. That it’s not just lip service, but actual “meat” behind it. |
| rubyji | I’ve thought often that the DA should have a diversity initiative. I’m glad to hear that this is being considered. |
| webchick | But there are a lot of ways this could go really WRONG |
| rubyji | Yes indeed. |
| rubyji | This topic is fraught, especially coming from someone (Dries) who doesn’t deal with very it much as far as I can tell. |
| webchick | And so I guess I’m reaching out pre-emptively to find out like:
a) What are some of landmines we can avoid? |
| webchick | Because as a D&I advocate (though without nearly as much cred as the rest of the people here), I see this as a great opportunity to give a megaphone to the issues + initiatives we feel are important. |
| webchick | So would love for this to go WELL. |
| webchick | Sorry for all the blah blah… thoughts? |
| sparklingrobots | @webchick I'm super excited to hear that Dries wants to add this to the Driesnote! |
| rubyji | I appreciate you reaching out. (Although I’d be even more impressed if Dries did.) This is a large and complicated topic.
I’d like to take some time for the DDI leadership to talk about this as a group, and maybe have some other conversations to help process and brainstorm. |
| sparklingrobots | Yes, I'm a little split-focus right now and would love a bit of time to think about this as well. |
| rubyji | If he hasn’t yet, I’d love for Dries to watch one of our DDI presentations. The latest iteration was at BADcamp: https://2018.badcamp.org/session/diversity-inclusion-building-stronger-d... |
| webchick | Sure, absolutely. Would it make sense to set up a call or something with a group of you + me @burnashburn? (who does all the “sliding”) I will also try really hard to get Dries there but I can’t speak for his availability, sorry. |
| webchick | Ok, awesome. I also haven’t seen that yet so will add it to my list! |
| sugaroverflow (she/her) | I think collecting ideas is great, but I’d love to have a one on one with him or his team (after speaking with the people here and my leadership team) to better communicate and make sure some of these thoughts get through. Not sure if @webchick is the facilitator for this right now (since you brought it up) :D |
| webchick | Yep, huge +1 to that. I think the more direct communication the better. |
| rubyji | @webchick the DDI leadership team meets on Tuesdays, so it would be great if we could get back to you next week with thoughts about next steps. |
| webchick | There are a few people working on it, I’m basically tasked with the “community facilitation” stuff, because I for example know how to join a slack channel and that you have meetings and who most of you are. :slightly_smiling_face: |
| webchick | @rubyji that sounds great! |
| webchick | @rubyji Should I try and set something up for mid-to-late next week then? Or do you want some time to discuss internally first before we do next steps? |
| webchick | (I realize now that that’s kind of a chicken/egg question LOL… sorry, I’m just sensitive to poor @burnashburn not having to pull 90 hour weeks right before DrupalCon and front-loading as much as possible. ;)) |
| rubyji | Not sure about process. This is the first most of us have heard about it and Fatima is travelling at the moment and we tend to work pretty asynchronously. I’m interested to hear what leadership team members think, but we literally haven’t even had a chance to discuss it. (And I’m technically only advisory now, so shouldn’t speak for the group anyway.) |
| sparklingrobots | @webchick I think not waiting til the last minute on this is a good idea for *all* parties involved....I'm speaking with no approval from the rest of the team, but I think a meeting late next week should be achievable |
| sugaroverflow (she/her) | I’m not clear on whether this is something he wants from the DD&i leadership team or from the community at large (and we are just a mechanism to facilitate that) |
| mdrummond | My initial reaction is that A) I think it is incredibly positive for Dries to be taking time in the Dries to be advocating for diversity and inclusion, both to say that it is important, to admit that we have a lot of room to grow, and to say that we can take action to do better, and B) Yes, it is important to take care to make sure this message is delivered with care. |
| webchick | @sparklingrobots ok roger that, so would that be inviting the folks from this list? https://www.drupal.org/docs/8/modules/drupal-diversity-inclusion/introdu... |
| mdrummond | And I can only speak as an individual here because we haven’t had time to discuss this as a leadership team yet, but personally I think facilitating some sort of discussion and feedback loop would be helpful, and I would guess there would be interest. And maybe that could lead to more long-term collaboration, who knows. |
| mdrummond | We’re trying to get a speaker training initiative up and off the ground, if there’s interest in pitching some donations in to help with that, we’d be glad for the help. :slightly_smiling_face: |
| webchick | @sugaroverflow (she/her) I think we are basically trying to treat this as an opportunity to raise awareness of why D&I is important, what work we’ve done, what work we have to do, etc. So my hope anyway is it’s kind of an opportunity for the D&I group as a whole to get a much broader audience for their work. I’m afraid I don’t understand the relationship enough between D&I leadership and the rest of the group (sorry about that, once again, n00b) to answer your question of where your role starts/ends vs. the rest of the group vs. the community.
But I think/hope our goals are aligned on: 1) raising awareness of this topic to a much broader audience, 2) featuring efforts and initiatives Drupal’s D&I team is already undertaking, and 3) not fucking up the delivery. |
| sparklingrobots | @webchick yeah, that's the list of current leadership. I wouldn't take my advocacy of a meeting for anything like group agreement but I think we could likely get together *something* by late next week and have at least some of those folks in the meeting |
| webchick | Yeah, I think how I will go about it is write up an actual thing that’s not me trying to come up with words on the fly in Slack (haha, important note to self for next time ;)) and send it to you all along with a Doodle, with the caveat that I understand you haven’t had the chance to discuss or even think about this yet, and kinda see what happens. This is coming more from a “it takes forever to schedule meetings” perspective, which I unfortunately have LOTS of experience in. |
| webchick | but what I’m hearing is even prior to discussing it, you would like as direct 1-on-1 communication as possible with the people working on this, and I know who all THOSE people are, and now I know who the leadership team is, so I figure an initial meeting anyway can’t hurt. |
| webchick | Thanks, and sorry to bog this down with logistics! |
| sparklingrobots | Also, I think to @sugaroverflow (she/her)'s question, I don't think this whole conversation needs to be had only between DD&I leadership + the team on the Driesnote....so if folks have thoughts/stories to share/etc, I hope our discussion about whether or not to have a meeting next week doesn't stop other folks from sharing here |
| sugaroverflow (she/her) | It sounds good to me to get ahead of the scheduling as long as it’s after Tuesday next week to give _us_ a chance to plan and align what we’d like to say.
The DD&I leadership doesn’t speak for the community as a whole, but we can advocate for certain voices so maybe there’s a later component of this where we hear those voices. |
| sugaroverflow (she/her) | Also, how awesome is this! I’m so glad to hear a focus/plan/initiative from the top to highlight diversity & inclusion. |
| webchick | Yay! Me too!!! |
| mdrummond | I want to echo that, personally I find this overall really exciting. |
| webchick | So while I work on next steps for that, would still love any thoughts/ideas around the content of this part that people have. |
| webchick | (With the definite understanding that at this point we’re just brainstorming, nothing set in stone.) |
| mdrummond | I also want to say that I’ve noticed Dries sharing more on Twitter about diversity and inclusion topics, and that’s really, really welcome to see. And it’s better to see that happening than not. |
| mdrummond | If Dries has a section on this in the Driesnote—even he ends up saying something a bit off or something—to my mind that’s better than saying nothing at all. And we are glad to help with the good content part! |
| sparklingrobots | Speaking not as DDI leadership, just as me, I think the most challenging aspect is the very large range of experience on these issues, from folks who are actively opposed to people who just don't know anything about it, to people who are experts. So finding a way to quickly establish some definitions is really important. |
| mdrummond | The content parts I’d want to note off the bat are: - We of course care about underrepresentation in gender! We also have huge problems in Drupal with underrepresentation based on racial differences, and that’s really important to talk about too. - Remember that with the big 8 measure used in the DrupalCon survey—are you a member of an underrepresented group—our goal shouldn’t just be to get that number to like 50% or something. Because that would still mean that 50% of the attendees are young white guys. If we wanted goals on that measure, let’s shoot for 70-80%. - Probably good to be careful about saying diversity and inclusion is important because it’s good for business. I mean maybe? But that makes it transactional, and if it wasn’t good for business, then should we not do it? To some extent there needs to be a moral imperative. |
| webchick | Good points, esp. that last one. |
| webchick | (Sorry I am old and keep losing track of threads, you kids get off my lawn, etc lol) |
| mdrummond | I saw a really good thing on Twitter within the last couple of days that said that we like to talk about diversity, but we should really be talking about equity, and what are the barriers that are preventing diversity. What are the things that are holding us back from being a more diverse community? |
| webchick | @mdrummond so by that do you mean more “societal” things like (on average) women having more household responsibilities than men? |
| mdrummond | Yes for sure! |
| mdrummond | One of the huge compounding effects in open source is that the extra free time bonus that some people have—particularly younger white males—then leads to so much else. |
| sparklingrobots | I always appreciate when people tie diversity work into actual impact on individuals and communities. E.g. we're not just trying to get bragging rights/diversity points, we're actually making an impact on the lives of individuals (e.g. they can get jobs now) and we're *also* making Drupal a better project for the billions of people around the world who don't look like the Drupal community does today. |
| webchick | Yes, I *definitely* would not have the profile and career I do had I not had a spouse supporting me (and also like reminding me to eat and stuff), that is for sure. |
| mdrummond | Extra time that can be used for code contribution, to writing talks, those code contributions and talks can lead to jobs, and jobs can lead to be more time for contributions and speaking opportunities and they can all reinforce each other. |
| mdrummond | And we need to find ways to break that cycle. That’s what we’re trying to do here. :slightly_smiling_face: |
| mdrummond | Pluuuuuus of course harassment and unwelcoming environments that can drive out people from underrepresented groups. |
4️ *DDI Channels & Resources!* More ways to connect and contribute :slightly_smiling_face:
* #ddi-careers -- post jobs, look for jobs, discuss work and career issues in the Drupal-sphere! :moneybag:
* #ddi-contrib-team -- learn how to contribute back to the Drupal project! :building_construction:
* #ddi-session-help -- get feedback on sessions or proposals you have for camps and cons! :studio_microphone:
* #ddi-europe -- have conversations with the European Drupal community about D&I issues! :flag-eu:
* #ddi-media-club -- discuss books & other media related to d&i! :books: (https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C1BCR7XL6/p1550072909017600)
* #ddi-chat -- converse with DDI folks about *all kinds* of topics, from politics to why your view isn't working! :rockcat:
5️ *More Ideas for DD&I work* - The leadership team has been talking about doing more advocacy work. We've discussed blogs or a newsletter to help share what we're working on and reach a broader audience. Thoughts?
| Amelia Rose Khan (nb/they/them) | I like the idea. This would get people to see what DD&I is doing if they are not on slack and with the newsletter that don't visit the website. Having different channels to reach out to people is helpful. Also is great to hear what others think of the DD&I work. |
| mdrummond | I’d really love to get some sort of newsletter sign-up so we can reach people who might not make it to a meeting. |
| rubyji | Our website used to have a newsletter sign-up form! Although we never actually sent anything to the list, IIRC. |
| sparklingrobots | Yes, a newsletter makes a lot of sense! Everything that happens here either gets lost to backscroll or requires a level of d.o understanding, but a newsletter could be a nice way to preserve and share certain info/topics/opportunities |
| rubyji | Or a blog…. _justsayin’_ |
6️ Events & Other Announcements!
:star2: *DrupalCon Seattle* is accepting BOF submissions: (https://twitter.com/drupalcon/status/1088209873442091010)
:star2: *Drupal Camp Asheville* session submissions are open: https://www.drupalasheville.com/submit-session - due April 22, 2019
:star2:*Midcamp* is coming up March 20-23 in Chicago. Sessions and schedule have been posted, and we're super excited about @sugaroverflow (she/her)'s keynote: "Actions Speak Louder than Code". https://www.midcamp.org/2019/topic-proposal/keynote-session-actions-spea...
:star2: Nominations for the *Aaron Winborn award LAST DAY tomorrow*: (https://www.drupal.org/community/blog/nominations-are-now-open-for-the-2...)
- This annual award recognizes an individual who demonstrates personal integrity, kindness, and above-and-beyond commitment to the Drupal community. It will include a scholarship and stipend to attend DrupalCon and recognition in a plenary session at the event. Nominations are open until March 1.
- Please take some time to think about someone you might want to nominate from an underrepresented community.
Any others folks would like to highlight?
| sparklingrobots | I believe the CWG tells all nominees that they were nominated and why (anonymously, I think?), so the Aaron Winborn award is a really nice way to show some appreciation even if the person you nominate doesn't win. |
7️ *drupal.org now has a Community section.*
> It sounded like there was support here for a DDI section in the community portal, who would be interested in hopping in to get that moving? What content would we like to have there from DDI? https://www.drupal.org/association/blog/introducing-community-group-sect...
| sparklingrobots | I'm interested in working on this! |
8️ *Celebrations!* We use this agenda item as a way of celebrating the wins - big or small in our community. We'll also use them to showcase things people have done or achieve. :tada:
| amyjune (volkswagenchick she/her) | March 9th I will be presenting a session on Inclusive Content Strategy for the Bay Area A11y camp!! I gave the talk yesterday for the first time at a Word Press meetup!! Met with very engaging questions! |
| webchick | I successfully raised $2,000+ for Covenant House and so am going to sleep OUTSIDE tonight in order to raise awareness for homeless youth. I think it will be a really formative experience.
This is an issue particularly important to me as I’m queer and while ~10% of youth are queer, ~40% of homeless youth are queer. |
| sparklingrobots | @webchick that's awesome. Stay warm tonight!!! :rainbow-sheep: |
| sparklingrobots | Totally unrelated to Drupal....I was accepted to run a table at Santa Fe Zine Fest, which I've never done before! So uh, time to make some zines, I guess  |
| gapple | I participated in my first alley cat bike race earlier this month. I felt like quitting after 30 minutes, but kept going and it ended up being a lot of fun. |
9️ *Personal check-ins.* :no_entry_sign: Share how you're doing, what you're up to, other thoughts and things.
(These are automatically off the record.)
1️ 0️ *Open floor* - Anything else we need to discuss today?
_If anyone has anything they would like to discuss or ask about - now's your chance. You can also DM me!_
| rubyji | I wanted to mention that I really appreciated this thread that @yesct started talking about pay transparency. Talking openly about compensation is a really concrete way to help people get paid more fairly.
I’d encourage people to participate by posting their job and salaries here: https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C1BCR7XL6/p1551362239001400?thread_ts=... |
| sugaroverflow (she/her) | @amyjune (volkswagenchick she/her) I think you had posted something about midcamp to the agenda? Sorry I missed it, do you want to post it here and send to the main channel? |
| sugaroverflow (she/her) | (I may also have it mixed up - am en route airport and mobile now) |
| amyjune (volkswagenchick she/her) | Yes - I want to invite everyone going to MIDCamp to my training on how to give back to Drupal, and perhaps help in the room as a mentor... or help in the collaboration day as a mentor..remember, we all know a little more about something than someone else. |
| amyjune (volkswagenchick she/her) | If you're thinking about mentoring at DC, this would be a good confidence boost!! |
:tada: :tada: :tada: :star: :star: :ddi: I'd like to take this moment to celebrate and introduce our newest members of the DD&I leadership team - @laughnan and @alexdmccabe and also, @ekl1773 who recently joined us!:skin-tone-3:
These three have continuously contributed and supported our efforts in this space and we're very excited to have them on the team to be able to empower them to continue to do the amazing work they do!
| sugaroverflow (she/her) | Personally, this is also a part of better supporting the <#C76TQUQ2D|ddi-contrib-team> and the immense impact they have on supporting individuals who are underrepresented in a way that helps them gain skills to succeed and contribute to the community. By having Contrib leadership on the DD&I Leadership team, I hope that we can continue to support their work and help it excel. |
| Amelia Rose Khan (nb/they/them) | Congrats to all three. They are all super helpful and great to work with. |
| amyjune (volkswagenchick she/her) | yes - congrats and thanks for stepping up. Its quite a commitment. |
| webchick | Awesome sauce!! |
| mdrummond | Congrats all! Really glad to have all of you join us! Thanks for what you’re doing to help us grow our work!
And the DDI leadership team may well continue to grow! Keep on trucking everyone! :slightly_smiling_face: |
| alexdmccabe | Thanks everyone, happy to be part of the team and help where I can. :slightly_smiling_face: |
| laughnan | ^ seconding this! so honored and excited! |
:ddi: :ddi: :ddi:
*This Meeting is not over - I've posted all the items so I can get on my way to the airport :hearts: - thank you for your understanding. Please have the conversations continue.!*
Thank you for showing up and contributing to make this community a better space.
• To send feedback about DD&I, the leadership team, anything really (even anonymous high fives! ) http://goo.gl/dUVq2J|goo.gl/dUVq2J
• And the work continues over at: https://www.drupal.org/project/diversity
:ddi: also, THANK YOU everyone for engaging and partipating and being here to do this work with us together. None of this work happens without you all showing up and putting the work in! I appreciate you all and I'm not sure I say that enough :skin-tone-3: so here's an applause for everyone in <#C1BCR7XL6|diversity-inclusion> - thank you for being here.
Thanks @sugaroverflow (she/her) for running this week's meeting!

volkswagenchickI want to mention that I would love to mentor folks who would like to mentor at DrupalCon. If anyone is attending MIDCamp, a couple of us are giving a 1/2 day training about issue queue contributions. We invite people to help us mentor there if they want to "practice" before DC. I hope that makes sense.

webchickI would like to raise the topic of Dries having a diversity + inclusion section of the Driesnote, give an overview of what he's thinking, and gather up thoughts/opinions on how best to showcase the work this group is doing and lay out plans to go from here.
