Said the patch was commited but still having this issue.

Notice : Undefined index: #entity_type dans Drupal\colorbox\Plugin\Field\FieldFormatter\ColorboxFormatter->settingsForm()

Using Colorbox 8.x-1.4 on Drupal 8.6.4.

The error still occurs when formatting media entities with colorbox. In my case media field in views.

Warning: Undefined array key "#entity_type" in Drupal\colorbox\Plugin\Field\FieldFormatter\ColorboxEntityReferenceFormatter->settingsForm() (line 213 of /path_to_site/modules/contrib/colorbox/src/Plugin/Field/FieldFormatter/ColorboxEntityReferenceFormatter.php).

I'm having the same issue Erwangel is... using Drupal 11 and Colorbox 2.1.4
