JOB TITLE: Senior Drupal Developer
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Education Commons, OISE
Note: 5 month contract at $35,000.
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated at least 5 years’ experience designing, developing and maintaining Drupal 7 and/or Drupal 8
- At least 5 years of experience programming on LAMP platform (PHP, MySQL, etc.)
- Strong web development skills HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, rich media
- Excellent communication and collaboration ability
- Excellent usability and user experience design
- Experience working in university or academic environment, an asset
Job duties performed for the above function
- Design websites by modifying and adapting themes or templates of open-source Content Management System (CMS), primarily Drupal to meet the needs of faculty and academic departments
- Build website prototypes with design team and validate iteratively by collaborating with stakeholders
- Implement websites by expanding prototypes by using best practices of web development
- Integrate social media and rich media content types
- Refine user interfaces for enhanced look and feel, and ease of navigation
- Migrate data from legacy web applications to organization standards
- Engage information solution users to assist with design, migration, issue resolution and solution
- Ensure system and application security standards enforcement and adherence
- Test websites for security, accessibility and compatibility with University standards
- Fine tune websites for performance, reliability and availability
- Run demo and introduction training to Drupal Web Development for other team members
