This issue is related to #2981031: Interest groups as radio buttons do not work but for signup forms (in block or page).

When creating a form with a 'radiobutton' interest group in mailchimp, the drupal signup form will not send this correctly to mailchimp.
This because a radiobutton does not return the expected array.

This can however be fixed seperately.

This is seperate from the patches in the related issue, and does not need the other related patches for storage of this values.

@mallezie Could you add the logic from your patch to #2981031: Interest groups as radio buttons do not work and update it to match the new logic there (maybe with a helper function that does everything under is_array), and test to see if it's working? The latest patch in #2981031: Interest groups as radio buttons do not work has been updated to include logic that correctly handles unselected items. Reviewing this in two issues is proving difficult.
