There is a new version of Drupal, Drupal 8.6.1. also is there anyway to use dynamic_entity_reference greater than 2.x to use core media?
I see the 2.x branch of that module is still in alpha so we most likely won't package this with the distribution for now. This version https://www.drupal.org/project/dynamic_entity_reference/releases/8.x-1.6 is also compatible with 8.6.1.
