Did you contact the current maintainer? Since the module is for Drupal 6, what are your plans?

I am setting this issue as postponed, since the request in the project queue as been opened in the same day as this.

Since the project is for Drupal 6 and last commit was 6 years ago, it might be abandoned.

In that case, I think the the best way to move forward is for Oliver Huynh to follow the protocol regarding Dealing with unsupported (abandoned) projects to the letter.

Thanks @gisle.

Let me follow the protocol you recommended.

I already made a ticket here https://www.drupal.org/project/hosting_reinstall/issues/2995459#comment-...
Let's wait for two weeks as the protocol said.

Let's wait for two weeks as the protocol said.

It says a lot more than that, such as:

  1. File an issue in that project's queue under the "support request" category stating your request to take over ownership.
  2. If you have a patch for the module, mention that as well.
  3. Point out the motivation behind your request.
  4. Contact the current project owner and the current maintainers to let them know about the issue you just posted, and that if you don't hear back in the issue within two weeks the project could be marked unsupported.

In particular, the last point is important. You need to make it clear how and when you contacted the present owner to let them know about your attempt to get the project declared "unsupported" in order to take over the ownership.

I sent a message to the module maintainer.

Thanks for the email @kiamlaluno, much prefer that means of contact than this approach here.

Regardless, I have no issue handing over the module as I will never have any use of it myself personally.

There is no need to close the issue: It will be closed automatically in two weeks.
