Basic cart payment integration for 8 [#2995455]

I saw that there is a successful integration with payment module for version 7. Would such a thing be in the works for Drupal 8? Is there a need for funding? Manpower?

I think Basic cart is a very important alternative to Commerce and even Ubercart. The big two are just way too much for a simple shop. I like the way that this module leverages nodes and fields so a developer can set everything up how they see fit.

Please let me know what's needed. I look forward to using this module in a Drupal 8 environment.

Where did you get the idea that this module works with D7 Jolene?
I can find nothing about this on the project page, only a single issue which bled to death #1541916: Payment/Basic Cart integration

Judging by that issue, it will take some effort to get Payment to work with Basic_cart. Or as Xano (maintainer Payment) suggests, creating a 'bridging' module. "Basic cart payment" was suggested as a name for this module.

I am willing to help out with this also, as I believe it will be of great benefit to the Drupal community to have a basic cart with as many payment methods as Payment offers. I am surely not the only one, check this https://www.ostraining.com/blog/drupal/basic-cart/

I think payments not necessary for this module. This is BASIC CART, for sites-catalogs. If payments needs, use commerce

This module has a submodule for integration with payment module. It doesn’t work so It should be fixed. I am not suggestion new functionality so this is not a feature request.

@Jo1ene: Where do you see this submodule? My 8.x-6.0-alpha4 module does not even have the word pay in it ...

@itcrowd72: I would disagree with you. Having an integration payment would really make this module even more useful. It is light-weight, easy to understand and to configure. Almost perfect even (except for the missing payment). Commerce OTOH is way to heavy (in many ways) if you are selling just a few items.
