daniel.moberly commentedUnfortunately, the Drupal 7 version of this module does not support the use of Waveplayer. Only the Drupal 8 module has that functionality included
Comment #3
konkon88 commentedThen, this answer is about which version of drupal?

Hi,
It seems that wavesurfer.js is not getting any love by 7.x ! Any chance to add it? :)

Alright, I finally got time to work on this. I pushed an initial build of Wavesurfer support to the development version.
daniel.moberly commentedAgh! You're right. The dev version does support Wavesurfer - it's been a long time since I wrote it. I'm going to push a live release with Wavesurfer support. Thanks for the reminder.
konkon88 commentedReally thank you for your help. I'm trying to solve this for months!
So the problem is still exists. What I'm doing wrong?
When I add the option of wave player inside a field, the result is only a play/pause button.

konkon88 commentedLogs might help
Comment #7
daniel.moberly commentedThe logs make it look like you have not installed the wavesurfer library. You need to download it from the wavesurfer site and place it in the libraries/wavesurfer folder. Check the module's README file for info on how to do so if you need to

bealine commentedHello,
I have installed the Audiofield module under a Drupal 8, uploaded Wavesurfer package to /libraries, renamed its folder to wavesurfer, but it's not appearing as available (I have uploaded also soundmanager and mediaelement librairies, wich are appearing avalaible and work well).
Is there a specific modification to apply in the path of Wavesurfer library folder ?
Many thanks in advance for your answer.
devad commentedI have the same issue as #8.
To reproduce, my config is: D9.1.x-dev, AudioField version: 8.x-1.x-dev updated 12 Oct 2020 at 17:21 UTC.
I have installed D9 and AudioField with composer and downloaded and unpacked the https://github.com/katspaugh/wavesurfer.js/archive/4.0.1.zip manually to libraries/wavesurfer folder as explained.
Other downloaded players (soundmanager etc) are working correctly, but wavesurfer is marked as not installed yet.

paintingguy commentedGlad to have found this thread. I too want to use this but it shows not installed in my libraries folder. Using drupal 9. Hope the developer continues with this cool mod.
Wavesurfer audio player library has not been installed. Download from https://github.com/katspaugh/wavesurfer.js/archive/4.0.1.zip and install in /libraries/wavesurfer
Comment #11
realgiucas commentedFor drupal 9: place the downloaded/cloned library in libraries/wavesurfer; enter libraries/wavesurfer folder and run
nmp installNow libraries/wavesurfer/dist/wavesurfer.min.js is generated and the Audio field module finds it.
paintingguy commentedI'm unfortunately confused how to do this. "nmp install" . Please explain more for me. Thank you
Comment #13
deckblad commentedThey meant to write "npm install" ( https://www.npmjs.com/ )
But, this doesn't accomplish as much as executing "npm install wavesurfer" which will create a /node_modules folder and package-lock.json file in the folder you executed that command. Browse into the /node_modules folder and move that /wavesurfer folder to your Drupal's /libraries folder
Comment #14
paintingguy commentedI'm at a loss trying to get this installed and working. If someone could please help me, I would be so grateful. I have AudioWaveform v1.6.0 installed and am now trying to get my audio player to show the wave. If I understand this correctly, wavesurfer will show the wave, yes?
Thank you for any advise :)
paintingguy commentedUpdate: I finally have wavesurfer working on my website. What an awesome module, thank you for this!
Question, do you know how I can add the additional options like timeline, regions, spectrogram, soundcloud browser etc? Even though all these plugins seem to be included in the plugin folders, only the basics are working.

astonvictor commentedD7 reached its EOL back in January 2025, and there is no active release for D7 for this module anymore.
Development or support is not planned for D7. All D7-related issues are marked as outdated in a bunch.
