I see that the last commit to this module was made on 14 November 2016. There are 340 open issues. There are nearly 50 pending patches for the Drupal 8 version alone, out of which 11 are marked as RTBC.

Since the last commit, there have been several Drupal Core releases. Can we expect this module to be updated? If not I think it would be helpful to put a notice on the project page that it is better to look for other alternatives and/or that you are looking for a maintainer.

Let me just say clearly that I find the module very useful, and I would like to use it - but there are so many issues for our multilingual site that we've been forced to rely on only entity browser.

If not, I propose that we take a look at the issue queue and nominate some of the people who have created a patch.

Given the nature of the SA-CORE-2019-003 security issue I really hope we can get a stable release of IEF, even if it is full of known bugs. I posted a comment on roadmap issue:

This module is used quite a lot in my current project, so I should be able to at least commit the RTBC patches and review a few issues and get a new RC out.
