It has been 2 years since last review of mentoring coordinators section of MAINTAINERS.txt by #2522716: Update mentoring description in MAINTAINERS.txt and add current maintainers alimac, heddn, valthebald, cilefen. Since this review, some people have defacto stepped down, and some have stepped up to lead the mentoring efforts.
Proposed resolution
1. Ask all people currently listed as core mentoring coordinators:
- Lucas Hedding 'heddn' https://www.drupal.org/u/heddn
- Valery Lourie 'valthebald' https://www.drupal.org/u/valthebald
- Alina Mackenzie 'alimac' https://www.drupal.org/u/alimac
- Jess Myrbo 'xjm' https://www.drupal.org/u/xjm
- Andrea Soper 'ZenDoodles' https://www.drupal.org/u/zendoodles
- Cathy Theys 'YesCT' https://www.drupal.org/u/yesct
2. Move people who have stepped down, to the past maintainers page
3. Remove people who have stepped down from MAINTAINERS.txt
4. Add new de-facto coordinators: Rachel Lawson, Mauricio Dinarte and Matthew Radcliffe (did I miss someone? please add) to
Remaining tasks
- Ask current maintainers what is their actual status with the core mentoring program
- Create patch
- Update past maintainers page

rachel_norfolkAlso seems appropriate to set to 8.4.x as otherwise will be 7 months out of date by the time it arrives!
We are in alpha for 8.4 but there are no specific restrictions on what changes are allowed in alpha releases beyond the allowed changes for minors. I can't see this as "disruptive".

It would be good to check with him whether he wants to be added to the list of current mentor coordinators. valthebald@dinarcon if I remember correctly, Chris has asked to be removed from the mentoring coordinators section by himself, as he is focused on other core tasks. But you're right, worth double-checking.

cilefen commentedI hate to be a nudge, but hasn't this section been in alphabetical order to date? Some other sections of this file are in seniority, or in lead/team order.

heddnAlpha order. There isn't really a leader. No interdiff, as it would be meaningless. And we should get a comment from mradcliffe in here too, as we don't have any acceptance from him that he is willing to fulfill the responsibilities of maintainership.
