When the image comes from non-ssl website the homepage returns the following fatal error:

No, this is the wrong solution.

You're saying 'I don't care if the https certificate at the other end is invalid'

Instead, you need to fix your certificate authority configuration - see https://docs.bolt.cm/3.2/howto/curl-ca-certificates
