Is this module compatible with Drupal 6.x (it appears to be 5.x-only), and if not, are there plans to develop a version that is?

Currently 5.x only, I do plan on porting it (and improving it) when I start/complete some of my other projects that need D6 upgrades such as table_export

Unfortunatly not at the moment, 2.0 should be available soon hopefully and I am planning on adding a bunch of goodies, I just currently have no need for the module up in my 6.x development but I assure that should be soon. I am planning on abstracting
everything vastly and hopefully this will become an API available in Drupal core some day, seeing as many modules essentially duplicate this functionality several times.
