It is used to alert the Drupal Project Lead that an issue change affects the governance, philosophy, goals, principles, or nature of Drupal and their signoff is needed. See the governance policy draft for more information.
I stepped up to be the coordinator about 10 months ago, and I've been doing that ever since.
However, I do want to call out that e0ipso and dawehner have been key contributors. So if they'd like to be listed coordinators as well, then I'd be happy to update this patch :)
19:17:07 <dawehner> WimLeers: Something like Here are other people to ask, so the initiative lead is not bombarded would be a good thing in general
19:17:23 <WimLeers> dawehner: agreed
19:17:36 <WimLeers> dawehner: though ofc the initiative lead can have a canned answer ready :P
19:17:49 <dawehner> ofc?
19:17:57 <WimLeers> dawehner: "Please see <URL that explains the whos and whats>"
19:17:59 <WimLeers> dawehner: "of course"
19:18:24 <dawehner> WimLeers: this sounds something which should be as a FAQ on the iniative node or so?
21:14:03 <WimLeers> dawehner: we have the overview of subcoordinators, so?
21:14:45 <dawehner> WimLeers: i'd love to help I just believe being initiative lead for 2 initiatives would be a bit of a lie
21:21:15 <WimLeers> dawehner: good point
I've granted @e0ipso the "Maintain issues" permission for core (you'll see many more names in your assigned field) and also granted membership to g.d.o/core for posting announcements.

dagmarTakes this as +1 for @e0ipso. His work on the jsonapi project not only as a developer but also as a issue queue maintainer has been incredible.

dawehnerWhere is the llama in maintainers.txt, I'm disappointed.
I personally hope we can finish the phpunit initiative rather quickly.
