I want to start the process and a team for translating the User Guide to Ukrainian, along with podarok, Ukrainian localization team manager. Our localization team is Drupal translation leader and was first, which fully translated Drupal 8 core.
This issue is to track progress on setting up for translations into Ukrainian.
Tasks:
==== Translation into Ukrainian
The Ukrainian translation of this guide was coordinated by:
* https://www.drupal.org/u/podarok[Andrii Podanenko]
* https://www.drupal.org/u/anprok[Andrii Prokopenko]
When this translation is done, make sure to update the scripts/lang-lc.conf (for your language code) at the same time so the chapter headings for Preface, Index, and Glossary in that file match what is in the source file for this issue.
However, if you found an existing lang-lc.conf file on Github, you should instead edit the guide.txt and glossary.txt files so that these headings match the translations you put in.
jQuery("tbody .views-field-title a").each(
function(){
console.log("[#" + jQuery(this).attr("href").replace("/node/", "") + "]");
}
);

jhodgdonHi anprok! Three quick questions before we get started:
1. Are you coordinating with the other members of the Ukranian translation team on localize.drupal.org , or are you one of the Ukranian team leaders?
2. Do you have any Git experience, or experience with managing projects on drupal.org? I don't see anything on your profile about that. We need to have someone to lead the team who is comfortable making Git commits.
3. I was going to ask if Drupal Core was translated into Ukranian, but localize.drupal.org says it is 100% translated, so that is excellent. :)

podarokHi @jhodgdon
re:
1 I'm translation team manager and asked Andrii to help with this issue, so yes to your question
2 yes
3 yes, and it is going to be such in a future )))
Comment #5
podarokSo, in regards to the issue itself, would be awesome to get all the needed infrastructure set up and running for Ukrainian team.
We are going to make progress as soon as it is ready.
Any help and guides would be appreciated @jhodgdon

jhodgdonYes, I'll get started on this shortly... should be able to take care of my parts today... Who should we add to the project maintainers list to make commits then, podarok or anprok?
Comment #7
jhodgdonI have taken care of several of the items... you can start making issues. See also #6... Also I added a couple of steps (also marked Done), which are part of the process but the Project Managers Guide on drupal.org hasn't yet been updated to include them (it's in the source but hasn't been updated on drupal.org yet, should be shortly).

jhodgdonSo... Who will be making commits to Git for the Ukranian team -- podarok or anprok? Or both?
Comment #11
anprok commentedComment #12
anprok commentedLets both will be making commit for Ukrainian team.
Thanks
Comment #13
podarokHey @jhodgdon
Thanks a lot for initial steps
If you need only one name - use Andrii Podanenko @podarok there
But if it is possible to add both of us - add Andriy Prokopenko @anprok as well
Thank you
Comment #14
jhodgdonI've added you both as maintainers, with permission to commit to Git and maintain/assign issues in the project.
I think your only remaining step here is to make your individual "translate each topic" issues, and start translating. I do definitely also recommend maintaining a glossary list for common terms (see issue summary), which you may want to put on localize.drupal.org or wherever your group communicates.
Welcome, and happy translating!

podarok@jhodgdon thank you so much!
Comment #16
jhodgdonUpdating the issue summary: rather than using a spreadsheet to track progress, we are now recommending an issue instead (see last step in summary).

jhodgdonI'm happy to see the recent updates on the Ukranian translation -- let me know if I can be of any help or if you have any questions (you can post questions on this issue).
