If you have a select widget then you get a multiple select box. I do not know how to make nodereference to use radios/checkboxes instead of a select but if there is such a widget then you won't get an Add More button either.

yched commentedTrue, some widgets (currently mainly optionwidgets, but this would also be the case of an hypothetical 'map' widget that lets you pick locations on a map) are inherently multiple and opt-out of the default 'multiple goodness' CCK provides (d-n-d reorder, add more)
Fixed help text so that the part about 'add more' is not shown if the widget opts out (easier now that changing the widget happens in a separate page)
