azarzag commentedI'm experiencing the exact same issue.
azarzag commentedOk, overriding menu--main.html.twig with the code here seems to fix the issue

gcharles commentedI've also noticed this issue. This happens because the bootstrap theme adds custom bootstrap css classes to the menu.html.twig file. Simply overriding that file in your subtheme would give you a blank slate without any of Bootstrap's css classes. In my case, i just copied the menu.html.twig file from classy and used that instead of the custom Bootstrap theme version.

kunalkursija commentedI have also faced the same issue, and overcome it. Check this comment https://www.drupal.org/node/2727345#comment-12124658 for reference.

tancIt certainly looks as people have said, Bootstrap is providing its own classes in its own template for
menu--main.html.twigwhich causes stylistic issues. The solution is to use the one provided by Drupal core in the classy theme (Stark one should also work).
