Select List Component Value Limit/Maximum

There seems to be a maximum amount of values in a select list that will allow for you to enter so that the Component Value on an email can be sent to certain recipients.

For example, I have a select list with 58 values. When I try to add this select list as the component value to send an email to, it defaults to a different select list and you are unable to add conditional emails for the value selected.

I would propose that the select list should not be able to be selected if the limit is met or that the limit is increased. I am assuming that the limit is there for a reason, but I am not sure what the limit is. Perhaps some help text would help as well indicating such.
