I wonder is there any way somehow (programmatically maybe in custom module) make too long tokens like, for example, [comment:node:author:field-name] shorter? Just for practical reasons, because instead of entering [comment:node:author:field-name] every time we could use some kind of token alias like [c:n:a].

Dave ReidNo, not really at this point, sorry. If you feel strongly about it, I would encourage you to experiment with it and maybe share it as a sandbox module or code here if you want, but otherwise, I'm going to mark this as resolved.
