The starter kit uses CiviCRM 4.4.7, which is now very old.

We should upgrade to at least 4.6.x (the new long term support version).

The Pantheon quick-start is a great way for people to evaluate CiviCRM, but if it's running an old version then it doesn't showcase the project quite as well. Let's update!

Yes, the Pantheon upstream now has a 4.7.x version and you should see it in the Pantheon dashboard.
