After updating to version 3.x-dev I saw my site was broken and digging up found the compatibility issue with php 5.3. Its just simple use of shortcut array tag in one file whereas shorttags for array was introduced in PHP 5.4 and is not compatible with PHP 5.3.
Patch is coming.

The patches are identical, so in accordance with https://www.drupal.org/contributor-tasks/duplicates#decide I'm closing this one because the other is slightly more clear, including regarding the false failed test status.
