I can easily create a view for latest polls, etc, but I want to put a "Featured" poll (how did you hear about us?) on the front page in a block for one of the sidebars. How do I get just one specific poll to do this?

There should be a block available for "latest poll", but I believe you want to be able to turn *any* poll into a block, not just the latest one.

There's a module that turns any node into a block. I haven't used it on a real site, and don't know that it's your solution, but it's worth a try. I think it's called Node as Block, or something like that; sorry, I might be very wrong on the name.
