Sorry, but am new to Drupal (usually use dreamweaver, muse, wordpress, joomla) - Hope I am in the right place for this question.
Have to add to/fix a client's site...
Question: How do I overlay and link 3 product images (sort of like buttons) on top of the background image on the homepage?
Basic steps and terms would be soooo helpful. Thanks

It will depend on the theme, in the best case scenario, there will be a region that sits on top of the background image. In this case you could use views to create a list of the 3 products displaying the images linked to the product. You will want a way to determine which products views displays.
