What do we need for a D8 release?

Or are there other modules recommended to replace spamspan?

The current alpha1 'works on my local' so I would say this could be RTBC.

To track a project's D8 development, the issue statuses are used as follows:

  • Needs review = Project has Alpha or Beta D8 releases available for testing.
  • Reviewed & tested by the community = Project has Release Candidate (RC) D8 release.

So you would have to ask in the modules issue queue, what it needs for a beta or RC release / ask for a RC release.
