This warning appears in search_result.inc because build the content type block going after return them.

Reproduce

1. Add the panel "Search results" in your page, in plugin settings enable “Display text if no search keywords were submitted“.
2. Submit the empty search form (just press enter key :).

UPD: Or navigate in to yout search results page (ex. /search/node).

The 3 year old patch in #2 to search_result.inc does not apply to the latest ctools 7.x-1.x-dev and (if applicable) needs to be rerolled.
