@ceng may be gnode can implement hook_workbench_access_info so that group can be used for hierarchical access control. Also allow workbench moderation permissions to be loaded to a group level. All of this might require a separate module...

This, or a simpler addition that supports basic core revisions for group nodes, would be great.

In Drupal 8 it would be more sufficient to integrate with the core initiative "Content moderation" since it will be probably replace Workbench.

For instance it could be nice to have a worflow state "Publish to Group" that allows to choose groups for content. This means a node could be published, unpublished or published to a group audience.

So you can tie any workflow state to any group.

We thank everyone for their collaboration on this issue, but as the D7 version is no longer supported, we will now close all D7 issues to keep the issue queue a bit tidier. This information won't go anywhere, it just won't show up on the list of open issues anymore.
