As seem on the discussion(https://www.drupal.org/node/2379167) that is happening for some months, doesn't seem to exist interest from any of the module maintainers to port the module for Drupal 8 for now.
As explained on the discussion, I already have a 8.x version working in production and would be great to have more feedback from other people, but even further, would be great to consider this a branch for the module, making it easier for more people to use it and give feedback.
If there are really no plans for any of the co-maintainers to port it to 8, i'm offering to become 8.x branch maintainer.

torotil commentedHi. None of the current maintainers (including me) is interested in maintaining a 8.x branch. I'm happy to make you co-maintainer for that branch. It seems that I have never got the permission to give permissions on this project so you'll need to contact eaton directly for that
Thanks for stepping up as a maintainer!

pedrorocha commentedThanks @torotil! BTW, I already sent a message on @eaton's contact page, when I created this issue. Not sure how much involvement with the module he has these days, but let's try.
I hope I can get some feedback from you guys, as probably many ideas came out through the last years maintaining Voting API. If I get the access, i'll create some space to discuss those ideas.

pedrorocha commentedWell... i'm going to move this issue forward in the "Dealing with unsupported (abandoned) projects" workflow(https://www.drupal.org/node/251466).
The previous steps were done.
1 - File an issue to allow module maintainer to give feedback (this issue here)
2 - contact the current project owner
3 - Wait two weeks(is going to finish tomorrow, actually)

dddave commentedI've added you as co-maintainer.
