Since March 2015 PayPal is offering a new omnichannel payment service PayPal Plus in some European countries including Germany:
PayPal Plus website (in german)
Are there any existing plans on introducing support for this feature? If no integration is currently planned, I'd be happy to help.

IckZ commentedany updates for this topic? is this going to be integrated?
brianlp commentedAlso very interested.
This allows customers to check out with PayPal without needing to sign up at PayPal. Imo it really helps improve conversion rates.
brianlp commentedJust talked to PayPal and received the PayPal-PLUS Integration Guide (33 pages pdf). Coding this is way beyond my skills but I can offer my support in any other way if that would help anything.

IckZ commentedHey everyone,
is any progress on this issue? I would like to help testing/debugging .. but my coding skills are not enough for creating a module patch...

andrej galuf commentedA paid solution is not a solution for drupal. "Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny" :)
We've decided to start with just ec next week. Right after that, I'll be tackling paypal plus as a submodule to commerce_paypal. Expect the first commit in about a week

IckZ commented@Andrej: I did not had the right words for the paid solution - but you take the biscuit :). Thanks so much and let me know If I can test or debug anything. cheers!

Kind regards!

andrej galuf commentedStatus Report: currently waiting for #2263585: Paypal enforcing HTTP/1.1 on sandbox - update client method before I'll proceed, as we need HTTP/1.1 support for PayPal Plus.

IckZ commentedHey Andrej,

cialog commentedHi Andreej,
as there's a workaround for #2263585: Paypal enforcing HTTP/1.1 on sandbox - update client method using the cURL HTTP Request Module ... can we also hope for progress on this issue?
IckZ commentedHey Andrej,
do you have any updates for this issue? Did you see cialog's comment about the http/1.1? The solution from this issue seems to be the trick: https://www.drupal.org/node/2263585#comment-11291333
Please let me know if you need somebody for testing or something like this..
cheers!

anybodyThank you very very much rszrama, this is GREAT news and as the feedback shows, really deserved for D7 and D8. I'd do it if I could but this task will need a bit more experience in payment processing and Drupal Commerce I guess... so just THANK YOU!

anybodyAny feedback, perhaps from the Commerce Guys, if this is a planned feature?
It would be nice to hear, if PayPal Plus is relevant in the US or any international countries, but in Germany (and perhaps EU?) it's one of the most important and most requested payment providers by clients - at least for us.
Is there anyone in contact with the commerce guys or another paypal module maintainer who could provide feedback? I guess some of us (including us) would even be willing to share sponsorship.
agoradesign commentedThis would really be interesting!
It's btw so hard to get an overview about what different solutions PayPal offers, and which of them are supported here and available in Germany/Austria...
Is the PayPal Plus probably the same as the Checkout plugin, that already exists? I have no idea, but why should they offer different solutions for different parts of the world that basically do the same...
A client asked me, if he could receive credit card payments directly via PayPal - and I have no clue, what to answer

anybody@rszrama: Here's a link, as it seems that PayPal Plus is only available in some (but still very important) regions: https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/what-is-paypal-plus-and-wher...
https://www.drupal.org/project/commerce_paypalplus never got out of rc1 for Drupal 7, has no Drupal 8/9 release and I'm unsure if it works! Having a look at the issues I tend to say NO...
The feedback here shows that this was and still is very important! See statistics like this https://de.statista.com/statistik/daten/studie/319321/umfrage/beliebtest...
Others like Stripe don't solve this, so there's not even a workaround for this very important payment method requested by many clients in the EU:
https://stripe.com/de/payments/payment-methods-guide#verfugbarkeit
I guess it would be an excellent idea to put more focus on the PayPal Module issues and PayPal Plus support. Selling a great eCommerce Software is hard, if important Payment methods are not available. And developers like me are frightened to touch this sensitive topic, I guess ;)

anybodyPayPal Plus is now "PayPal Checkout": https://www.paypal.com/de/webapps/mpp/upgrade-to-checkout
https://t3n.de/news/paypal-checkout-neue-fuer-kunden-1463035/
Should we perhaps close this issue then in favor of #3276425: Support "PayPal Checkout"?
If we could get some feedback, if PayPal Checkout works as replacement for PayPal Plus now, that would be great and we could close this issue fixed! :) Perhaps someone could provide some PayPal Checkout Screenshots with Drupal 7 and 8+ to show the "Pay later" / Pay by invoice option.
